Treas ., the working tools being presented and explained by Bro . Hugh W . Bloomer J . W ., whilst Bro . John M . Crone S . W . delivered the ancient charge in a very careful manner .
At the festive board which succeeded , Loyal and Masonic toasts were enlivened by songs and recitations , in which two of the visitors , Bros . Ward and Daniels , figured very prominently . In responding to the toast of his health , introduced by Bro . Nail , the newly-initiated Brother " congratulated himself upon having had the privilege of joining the Craft . As some of the Brethren knew , he was a member of an
institution in Manchester which , in explanation , he said he had -joined because he was a clubable man , and his desire to join Masonry was based on a similar reason—that he was a Brotherly man . During his short association with them he had noticed many things in connection with the Brethren , and one was the eagerness with which they endeavoured to assist each other . If
it should ultimately fall to his lot to be placed in any position , however low , he should try to perform its duties to the best of his ability . He concluded a' very excellent speech by thanking Bro . Nail for the kindly references he had made , and the Brethren for the enthusiastic way in which they had received the same .
ST . PETER LODGE , No . 1024 . THE installation festival in connection with this Lodge took place on Wednesday , 26 th ult ., at Maldon . The Brethren assembled in the Masonic Hall , at 4-30 p . m ., under the presidency of the W . M . Bro . W . B . Facey Prov . Grand S . D ., who , during the evening proposed , and Brother E . R . Horwood P . M . Past Prov . Grand Chaplain seconded , a resolution , which was carried unanimously , conferring on Bro . F . George Green P . M . P . P . G . S . W . the honorary membership of the Lodge , of which he has just resigned the Secretaryship , after serving for thirty two years .
The W . M . also presented , on behalf of tbe members of the Lodge and other Brethren , a purse of gold to Bro . Green , as a token of their esteem and regard . * Bro . Green feelingly responded . Bro . J . P . Sayer S . W . was installed in the chair of K . S ., the ceremony being ably performed by Bro . Facey .
Subsequently the Brethren , to the number of thirty , sat down to the banquet at the King ' s Head Hotel , the Worshipful Master presiding .

Arthur Williams , who is generally supported by a very large percentage of Past Masters , resident in the vicinity .
