acknowledg-Globe Lodge ( No . 23 ) . —An emergency meeting of this Lodge took place at the Freemasons ' Tavern , on Monday , June 7 , Bro . W . Watson , P . M ., presiding for the W . M . Bro . Bebbeck , who was unavoidably absent . Lodge being duly formed and declared open , a ballot was taken for the admission of Mr . J . Salamons , which , being unanimous in his favour , he was introduced , and received the introductory steps to the science of Freemasonry ; after which

Crystal Palace Lodge ( No . 1 , 044 ) . —Thursday last , June 10 , being the third anniversary of the opening of the Crystal Palace , was specially set aside by a number of the Brethren ( many of whom are connected with that building ) who have recently obtained a new charter for a Lodge under this title for its consecration . The Lodge is held at Bro . Sewell ' s , Longton Hotel , Sydenham , one of the most delightful of suburban retreats , which requires only to become known to render it a favourite resort for summer festivals of the Craft and their friends . The consecration was appointed to take place at two o ' clock , and shortly after that hour the chair was taken by Bro , Wm , Watson , P , M , of No . 28 and various other
