'M . and Treasurer , the names of those eligible for W . M . being read over , the choice of the Brethren fell
upon Bro . George Holme , P . J . W . of the Lodge ; Bro . James Hamer , P . M ., being unanimously elected Treasurer . Five candidates being proposed and seconded , and the other business of the Lodge being concluded , it was closed in love and harmony , and the Brethren adjourned to the suppey-room , after a pleasant evening , the newly initiated delighting the Brethren by their very superior vocal talents . After the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were given , the Brethren separated evidently well pleased with the prosperity of the Lodge and the good fellowship of its members .
A Lodge of Emergency , called to finish the work in arrear , before the installation of the W . M . elect , was held at the same place , on Monday , June 21 . The Brethren assembled at half -past five , and the Lodge was opened in due form by the W . M . The ballot was then taken for . Messrs * Alfred Niekson , Richard Holme , Edward Singlehurst ) Francis Anderson , and Captain Thomas H . Fearoa ,
and was in such case declared to be unanimous . The three first-named candidates ^ beings in attendance , were severally admitted and initiated into the mysteries of the Order by the W . M ,, Bro . C : J . Banister , in a very impressiv-e manner , the W . M . delivering the charge and explaining the working tools . The jWork of emergency being ended , the Lodge was closed in due form and with solemn prayer .
Liverpool . ^ Lodge ( No . 294 ) . —On Thursday evening , the 24 th inst ., a goodly number of the Brethren of the Lodge met at the Eoyal Hotel , Dale-street , for the purpose of witnessing the installation of Bro . Collins , P . M . and P . Prov . J . G . W . The ceremony of installation was conducted by Bro . Joshua Walmesley , Prov . Gr . Treas . of the district , assisted by several Past Masters . The
Lodge was afterwards called off to refreshment , when upwards of fifty Brethren sat down to an excellent dinner . The newly installed W . M . occupied the chair , while Bro , Jankowski , the newly appointed S . W ., occupied the vice chair , and Bro . Younghusband the J . W . 's chair . After the usual loyal and patriotic toasts were disposed of , the W . M . said he had much pleasure in giving " The Earl of
Zetland , our M . W . G . M ., " which was drunk with enthusiasm . The W . M . afterwards gave " The R . W . D . G . M ., Lord Panmure , " which was received with great applause . The healths of Bro . CondlifT , P . M ., as well as the newly installed Brother , and Bro . Walmesley , as originator and treasurer of the education fund , were accepted with considerable warmth of feeling and much cheering . The Lodge closed at an early hour , the proceedings having been conducted with considerable ability .
