Warren , in deference to the suggestions which had been made to him from various quarters , withdrew the motion which stood on the paper in his name to the following effect , at the same time expressing his conviction that if carried , it would add to the dignity of the office and the independence of the Craft : — " TJiat from the date of the resignation or voidance of office , from any cause whatever , of the M . W . G . M . the Right Hon . the Earl of Zetland and the
R . W . D . G . M . the Big ht Hon . Lord Panmure , no Brother ( excepting he be a prince of the reigning family of Great Britain ) he eligible tp be elected or appointed as G . M ., Prov . G . M ., or D . G . M ., for more than f } ve years in succession , but any Brother who has once served either of those offices shall be eligible for further re-election or appointment at any time after the expiration of twelve months from the date at which he retires from office , "
