A JIason thou shalt be . Then thou shalt in the Temple walk , And know our secrets rare . Shall learn to curb all idle talk , And work upon the square .
2 . First thou shalt an Apprentice be , Clad in a badge most pure ; AVhen thou accepted are and free , Advancement eomes full sure ; For next as Craftsmen thou wilt find ,
A prospect brightly fair ; And this thou'lt have to bear iu mind—The work is on the square .
3 . Raised to the Master ' s grade sublime , Thy track thou'dst not retrace . Though thou shoulds't live till end of time This nether world to grace—Reflect on this , " my father said ,
And smoothed my shining hair , " AVhere'er Freemasonry ' s display'd The work is on the square . "
