Pfiuor LODGE ( NO . 23-1 . )—This Lodgo hold its regular meeting at the Ship and Turtle Tavern , Leadeuhall-strcct , on Tuesday , tho l'lth of December , 1858 , under the presidency of the AV . M ., Bro . Burrcll , P . M ., when Bro . Frederick Tyerman , S . AV ., was unanimously elected AV . M . for tho ensuing year . A report was received from the committee relative to Bro . Key ' s testimonial ; and the Brethren adjourned to an excellent banquet prepared for them by tho host , Bro . Painter . Amongst the visitors present wo observed Bro . Hervey , P . S . G . D . ; Bro . Hast , and Bro . punter .
YAIUSOROUGII LODGE ( NO . 812 ) . —The annual meeting of this Lodge was held on Thursday , Jam 6 th , at Bro . AVilliams ' s , George Hotel , Commercial Eoad East . The Lodge was opened at four o ' clock , and Bro . AY . J . Crisp , AY . M ., initiated Mr . W . J . Brewer and Mr . AVm . Bromscomb . By the audit report , which shows a good balance , it appeared that the receipts of the past year amounted to ;< M 25 , and that £ 77 Ss . had been paid as dues to tho Graud Lodge . Tho Lodge out of their charity fund had paid the funeral expenses of the late Tyler , Bro . Hookey . Bro . J .
H . AVynno , P . M . and Treas ., then took the chair according to his wonted custom , and Bvo . B . B . Hampton , S . AV ., was presented as the AV . M . elect b y Bro . John Purdy , P . M ., for installation , which ceremony was fully performed . The following Brethren wore then appointed—Bros . Samuel Vasey , S . AV . ; Eev . D . Staboo , J . AY . ; Eev . A . Douglas , Chaplain ; A . K . James , Sec . ; If . M . J . Gutierrez , S . D . ; AV . Wright , J . D . ; J . D . Carr , Dir . of Cera . ; T . J . Middleton , I . G . Bro . AVynno reelected Treasurer , and Bro . Speight , Tyler , wore also invested . It was nearly seven
o ' clock ore the business was concluded , and the Brethren assembled at the social board , where , after duly honouring the loyal and Masonic toasts , the AA . M . ' s health was proposed by Bro . Crisp , ancl greeted with loud plaudits . Tho cause of tho charities was eloquently urged by Bro . T . E . Davis , P . M ., and especially tho claims of the Benevolent Institution to support . He said that more than thirty brethren and widows were seeking its benefits , some of thorn for above ten years ; such scandal ought not to exist . AYhat ivould become of our boasted tenets if these applicants remained much longer without relief ? Ho hacVundertakcn the stewardshi p at the approaching festival , and should not be satisfied unless he was able to take up £ 100 on his list .
