the duties of croupier being discharged by Bro . Barrow . A sumptuous banquet ( served iu host Nimmo ' s best style ) having been partaken of by the company , the usual loyal and patriotic toasts were given from the chair , Capt . Ramsay replying for the " Army , Navy , aud Volunteers . " Bro . Inglis ( whose reception was most warm and enthusiastic ) in replying to thc toast "The Three Grand Lodges ot England , Ireland , and Scotland , " assured the company that he would take
the earliest opportunity of informing thc Grand Master Mason of Scotland , the Earl of Dnlhuusio , of tbe success which had marked these proceedings . Bro . W ' ylie proposed " Freemasonry all over the world—all thc world a lodge , aud every man a Mason . " The Croupier proposed "The Visiling Provincial Grand Lodges of Scotland , " to which Bro . Maitland replied . Bro . Inglis , in giving " The Prov . G . Lodge of Glasgow , " said
— I should like to have had some time to prepare myself for this toast , but reall y Bro . Neilson is so well known to you all that I shall not require to say much on tbe subject . He is not a man of yesteivay m this great city of Glasgow . His name , aud the name of bis father , and the name of his firm are as well known in the metropolis of iho West as the steeple of any at your churches , lie comes of a great hot-blast line , -and I believe there is not a country in the civilised world where the name of
Neilsou is not seen careering through space on a brass plate , and earr ' iug iln : fame not only of tits firm but of this city , to the ulterinost ends of the earth . Iu Australia , at the . Cape of Good Hope , in America , and on the snowy Steppes of Russia , the name of AVilson is associated with the triumphs of steam . It is no unknown man , therefore , that you have placed over you as Prov . G .. AL , and . certainly no unworthy man .
