The report of tho Board of General Purposes . —To the United Grand I-iodgo of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of England : —The Board of General Purposes beg to report that the Board of Benevolence having preferred a complaint against two brethren , viz ., the AV . M ., and Bro . B . A . D . Bain , a Past Master of the Vitrnvian Lodge ( No . 87 ) , London , for having
been both present at the same time at the meeting of the Lodge of Benevolence on the 20 th day of April last , in contravention of the law as laid down in tho Book of Constitutions , both brethren were summoned to attend . It appeared that the W . M . was rightly in his place at the Lodge of Benevolence , and the Board therefore dismissed the complaint as against him .
Bro . Bain admitted his fault , but said he had erred through ignorance , and had not voted . It appeared that the W . M . had cautioned him not to enter tho lodge on the occasion in question ' The Board therefore ordered him to be reprimanded for his offence against the law and cautioned him to be more careful in his behaviour for the future , and he -was reprimanded by tihe President accordingly . 17 th May , 1870 . The President having quited the chair , it was resolved unanimously : — " That the most cordial thanks of this Board are eminently duo to the V . W . Bro . John Llewellyn Evans , not only for his unremitting attention to the duties which have devolved upon him as President , and which he has fulfilled with
