The foregoing petitions being in all respects regular , the Committee recommend that the prayers thereof be respectively granted . The Committee have likewise to report that they have received a Memorial from the Grand Chapter of New Sonth Wales , reporting
that they were regularly established on the 30 th September 1889 , and asking recognition by the Grand Chapter of England , and that fraternal communication may be established between the two Grand Chapters .
The Committee recommend that inasmuch ns tho Grand Lodge of New South Wales has heen duly acknowledged by the Grand Lodgo of England , tho Grand Chapter of New South Wales bo also recognised . The Committee havo received Memorials , with extracts of Minutes , ou tho removal of tho following Chapters : —

The Committee boing satisfied of tho reasonableness of theso requests , recommend that tho removals of tho above named Chapters be sanctioned .

rntlE regular convocation of this Chapter was held at the Guildhall - *• Tavern , Gresham Street , on Monday last . There wore present : — Comps . IT . P . Isaac M . E . Z ., J . W . Dewsnap P . Z . H ., L . M . Meyers I . P . Z . J ., M . J . Emanuel P . Z . S . E ., L . Lazarus P . Z . Treasurer , Comp . Littaur kindly acted as S . N ., and Comp . T . Meyers Assistant Soi ., Comps . ' Botibol , Philip Davis , J . Klein , J . Straus , Blaiberg ,
Isaacs , Jacques Wynman , and several others were also in attendance . Tho Chapter was opened in due form at 5 * 30 , and the minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed . A ballot was taken for Bro . Philip Davis , who was subsequently exalted to the Holy Royal Aroh degree by the M . E . Z ., assisted by his Officers . The ceremony
was performed in a most efficient manner . Hearty good wishes were expressed , and the Lodge was closed in peace and harmony . The Companions afterwards sat down to snpper . The usual Loyal and Royal Aroh toasts were proposed and responded to , and a very pleasant meeting terminated with the Janitor ' s toast .

Laying The Foundation Stone Of The Masonic Hall, At Kingsbridge.
LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE OF THE MASONIC HALL , AT KINGSBRIDGE .
IN the presence of a large nnmber of membera of Dnncombe Lodge , No . 1186 , of visiting brethren , and of the general public , tha foundation stone of a now Masonic Hall was , on Tnesday , tho 21 st ult ., laid at Kingsbridge . The Lodpr consecrated in 1874 , haa since then met at tho King ' s Arms Euiel , and of late the need of more accommodation has been recognised by-the brethren . A site
was procured in Duncombe-street ; Mr . R . Watson prepared plans , nnd a contract was entered into with Mr . G . Hooper for tbe building . Tho larso room , 30 feet by 20 , will bo approached through an anteroom , 11 a feet by 10 £ . The brethren meeting at the hotel marched in procession to the site , beaded by tho town snbscription band . The
Wardens carried vessels containing oil and wino , and other brethren carried corn and the Bible . A hymn having been sung , and Rev . J . E . Surridge Chaplain having offered prayer , Bro . J . Foale deposited in the cavity beneath the stone coins and documents . Bro . J . Tucker then presented a handsome silver trowel , with massive ivory handle , and inscribed : —
" Presented to W . Bro . H . D . Adkins W . M . by the members of the Dnncombe Lodgo , No . I 486 , on tho occasion of laying the foundation stone of tho new Masonio Hall , 21 at January 1890 . " After the W . M . had thanked the members for their beantiful rresonfc ho declared the stono well and truly laid . Bro . George Hooper then presented a polished mallet , and other members the
corn of nourishment , the wine of refreshment , and the oil of joy . The W . M . having handed to Bro . R . Watson the architect , square , compasses and plans of the building , formally entrusted the wojk to him . Bro . J . Balkwill sketched the history of the Dnncombe Lodge . Its first public act was the reception of the Provincial Grand Lodge , on the occasion of a presentation to Hope of a life-boat by the
Freemasons . They had also subscribed towards a handsome pulpit in Stokenham Church , and in the Jubilee year they gave a windqyv in Dodbrooke Church , as a thankoffering for the long reign of Her Majesty the Queen . Last year they subscribed for a Life Governorship of tbe Royal Masonio Institntion for Boys . Those present included Bros . Rev . J . E . Surridge , H . D . Adkins , J . Foale ,

ing , said the Admiralty was increasing tho navy at tbe present timo in a gradual and proper manner . The next naval war wonld be a grand experimental one , and tbo coolest heads wonld win . Captain Square responded for the Volunters . Mr . A . F . Holdsworth proposed Success to the new Masonic Hall and Dnncombe Lodgo . There waa no doubt of tho good the Freemasons did , and tho enormous amount
of money spent by them in charity . He hoped the new hall would be of lasting good for the neighbourhood . Dr . Webb responded . Bro . R . Chaso gavo the Founders of tho Lodge , and Bros . J . Tucker , C . Elliott , and J . Stevens responded . Bros . R . Watson , architect , and George Hooper , Builder , responded to tho toast of their health .
Bro . J . R . Gill , in eulogistic terms , gave the Chairman . For the Visitors , Bros . Captain Twysdon , A . F . Holdsworth , and F . Coaker responded . Dr . Adkins gave the Vice-Chairman . After toasting the Hostess , the Press , and tho Ladies , the company separated , after singing tho National Anthem .

The accounts of Bro . Tyson , Honorary Treasnrer , showed that the amounts received in rents from Lodges daring the year wns
£ 466 ; from Lodges of Instruction , £ 37 ; from Chapters , £ 73 10 a ; miscellaneous rents , £ 40 5 s ; and for occasional meetings £ 157 15 s ; total , £ 1000 15 s lOd . After payment of all accounts , there remained a balance in bank of £ 189 16 s . Tho accounts wero
passed , and votes of thanks given to the various Officers for their services during the year . Bro . T . H . W . Walker was elected chairman of tho Hall Committee ; Bro . A .
