THIS old and prosperous Lodge field its monthly meeting on Sntnnlay , 27 th ult ., at Kingston . It unfortunately was not so fnlly attended ns usual , owing to tho counter attraction of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Surrey , whioh met at Snrbiton the same afternoon , and at which of course many members of tho Grove Lodge had to bn present . Those who left Snrbiton before Divine
Service at St . Mark ' s Church , went on to Kingston , where the chair was occupied by Bro . IT , J . P . Dumas P . M . P . G . D . P . G . W . or Surrey , who was most ably seconded by Bro . H . C . Jepps I . P . M . Grand Steward Snrrey . The passing of Bro . H . F . Dumas was impressively performed . Bro . Porter , candidate for the sublime
degree of Master Mason , was unfortunately unable to attend , and the ceremony of raising had therefore to be postponed till the Jul y meeting , when it is intended the W . M . shall deal with tho two . The business of the Lodge being satisfactorily brought to a close , the brethren adjourned to an excellent banquet .

M . for the most perfect way in which he had gone through the work of initiating separately the five candidates , and the pleasure it would give Bro . George Price to hear of the way
in which tho Lodge was being worked . Bro . Saxelby spoke of the pleasure it had been to the recommending Lodge ( tho East Surrey Lodge of Concord ) to be of service to a Lodge bearing the honoured name of George Price . Bro , VV . G . 0 ites , in replying to the toast of the Initiates , thanked the brethren for the honour done him in
admitting him into tho Craft , and also for the great compliment paid to him by making him the first initiate of their Lodge . He wag much interested and impressed by all he had seen , and felt sure he would take a very great interest iu the Craft in general and in his Mother Lodge in particular ' , so that he might one day fill—though he
