A vote of thanks was also given to Brothers Beaumont and Smith for presenting to the Lodge the Overs-eers ' pedestals , whioh were very handsome , and as the Worshipful Master suggested , will doubtless be all the more valud because tbey wero made by the brethren themselves . After the ceremony the brethren adjourned to the large coffee-room
of the Great Eastern Hotel , > here a very elegant banquet was served in faultless afcyle . The Worshipfnl Master proposed the ensfcomary Loyal and Masonio toasts . He commented upon the fact thu there were no leas than nine Grand and Past Grand Officers present , and coupled with the toast of the Grand Officers the name of Bro . Berridge . Bro . Berridge , in response , said it had given tho
Grand Officers great pleasure to assist Bro . Matier in the consecration of the St . Nicholas Lodge , which he hoped would soon become one of the best working Lodges on tbe roll of tbo Grand Mark Lodge of England . Bro . Tracy , responding to the toaet of the Provincial Grand Officers , said he was glad to find thafc the Province of East Anglia was participating in the growth and general prosperity of
the Mark degree . He felt sure that the degree had so much vitality and so much necessity for life in it that it was bound to go on and prosper . The W . M ., in proposing the health of the Consecrating Officer , said that when Bro . Matier promised to come down to the St . Nicholas Lodge ifc was for the purpose of advancing the brethren who wished to join , and for no other purpose . Ifc was at
very short notice he undertook to perform the consecration , and he was snre tbey were deeply grateful to him for the masterly manner in which he had performed the ceremony . Bro . Matier , in response , commented upon the fact that East Anglia took a very prominent part in the advancement of the Prince of Wales . Bro ? . Goo . Cooper and Railing acted as Deacons , and Bro . Crate as Grand Chaplain .

" The Charities was placed in able hands , and Brother

A few years ago ifc celebrated its centenary , and the members would now be entitled , under the per . mission of the Grand Lodgo of England , to wear the centenary jewel ,
bnt for a slight break in its long Masonio existence . It has many cherished recollections preserved in its annals , bnt it is doubtful whether its records can boast of so large a gathering as that of Tuesday , the 24 th ulfc ., when Sir Morgan Morgan was installed aa Worshipful Master of the Lodge . The ceremony fixed for three o ' clock did not tako place till an honr later , when the important duty

The usual Masonio toasts were given , and Sir Morgan Morgan , in proposing the Qneen and the Craft , alluded to Her Majesty in suitable terms , nnd said it was evident , from the largo gathering that day that
the Craft of Freemasonry was very popular in the Province . In pro . poaing the health of His Royal Highness the Grand Master of England , he alluded to the great interest the Prince of Wales took in the welfare of the Craft , and to the announced marriage of the Duke of Clarence to a thorough English lady . The toast was coupled with the name of Bro . Tennant , who responded for the Grand Lodge of
England . The nexfc toasfc was the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master of the Province , and the Worshipful Deputy Provincial Grand Master and Provincial Grand Officer ? . Bi \ s .
