its banner . The installation ceremony was performed in a most able and impressive manner hy the Provincial Grand Master ( Brother Viscount Dungarvan ) . M . elect was installed into the chair of King Solomon , according to the ancient laws and landmarks of the Order , Bro . Canova ably and expertl y acting as installing Maater . The W . M . proceeded to inveat hia Officers

G ., Miller Tyler . The banqnet subsequently took place at the Angel Hotel . Bro . Morris W . M . presided , and a long toast list was successfully carried out .
ST . PETER'S LODGE , No . 481
THE brethren , accompanied by a number of friends , celebrated the jubilee of their Lodge by holding a most enjoyable pic-nic , at Alnwick , on Wednesday , the 28 th ult . The party , numbering about seventy , including several ladies , arrived in tbe old historic town about half-past ten o ' clock in the morning , and were , conducted through the magnificent gardens and grounds of Alnwick Castlo by George Harris , the courteous and obliging chief-gardener of his
Grace the Duke of Northumberland , and being at present in the full height of their summer luxuriance and beauty , they afforded a rare treat . An adjournment was then made to the White Swan Hotel , where a sumptuous luncheon was provided by the proprietor , Mr . W . Ireland , the chair being taken by Brother Thos . Purvis W . M . Ample justice having been done to the repast , the usual loyal toasts were
proposed aud duly honoured , after which tho toast , success to St . Peter ' s Lodge , was proposed in felicitous terms by Brother Purvia , who in hia remarks alluded to the agreeable fact that the firsfc Master of the Lodge waa atill living ; but who , on account of old age , and being reaident in London , had fonnd it impracticable to be present with them on the auspicioua event of their jubilee celebration . The
toast waa enthusiastically honoured . After the Visitors and Ladies had been proposed and warmly received , tho party drove in brakes through Hulne Parks to Hnlno Abbey and to Brizlee Tower . On their return in tho evening to the White Swan , they partook of an excellent tea with the keenest relish , and left the scenes in which they had spent a sunny and happy holiday by the 8 * 40 p . m . train for Newcastle .

Tbo usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured and acknowledged . The evening gathering was much enlivened with some excellent songs , recitations , and instrumental music by several members of the Lodge and visitors .

ONE of the mosb enjoyable outings ever held in connection with this Lodge took place on Tuesday , the 28 th ult ., under the aupervision of the W . M ., Bro . William Sweet . The party , whioh was a numerous one , left the Millbay and Devonport stations for Liskeard in the morning , the journey proving the more agreeable on acconnt of the comfortable saloon carriage provided by the railway
authorities at the request of the W . M . Fnll justice waa done to a luncheon , whioh was admirably served at Bro . Cleave ' a Stag Hotel . Thence the excursionists proceeded in open conveyances to the renowned Cheesewring , the manifold beauties of which for some time attracted their attention . After indulging in a healthy scramble
over the hugh boulders , the visitors were photographed in a group , as a memento of the outing . On Liskeard being reached once more an excellent meat tea proved very acceptable to the now hungry party . A convivial time waa spent , during which the W . M . received the hearty good wishes of all present . The party returned to Plymouth well satisfied with their trip .
