A MEETING of this Provincial Grand Lodge was hold in fche Freemasons' Hall , Eitzwilliam Street , ifuddersfield , on Wednesday , lGfch alt ., under the banner
of the Albert Edward Lodge , No . 1783 , when Bro . Thomas William Tew , J . P ., Past G . D . of England , Provincial Grand Master presided , supported by Bro . Henry Smith , Past G . D . of England , Deputy Provincial Grand Master . Thero was a very large number of the members of the Province present , and the following Visitors—Bros . Rev .

Thomas William Tew , the Deputy Provincial Grand Master ,
Bro . Henry Smith , and the Provincial Grand Officers entered at two o ' clock , and Provincial Grand Lodge was opened in due form . After preliminaries , tbe roll of Lodges and the roll of Present Provincial Grand Officers was called . The minutes of the meeting held at Leeds on Wednesday , lOfch of April 1889 , were presented , when ifc was moved , seconded , ana resolved , ¦* That they be taken as
read , and confirmed . " The Provincial Grand Master delivered his address , which we published in our issue of the 26 th ult . The Deputy Provincial Grand Master thanked tbe brethren cordially for their salutation , and impressed upon them the necessity of promptly signing thoir voting papers and returning them to their respective Charitv Members . Bro . W . F . Smithson . Chairman of
tho Charity Committee , stated that , since the April meeting , West Yorkshire had presented one boy , and elected a second to the Schools , and had also been successful with three girls and three annuitants , two males and one widow . Bro . Smithson ' s statement was very cordially received . Bro . A . W . Stanfield moved , and Bro .
Richardson seconded tbo following Resolution : — "That thia Provincial Grand Lodge receive and adopt the Report of the Committee appointed to inquire into the management of the
Royal Masonic Instit . ion for Boys ; and it trusts that steps will be taken to cerry out the re jrnmendations of the Committee , aa stated ou pages 43 and 47 of tho Report , in order that uo recurrence of the ve j serious abuses of the Cba . Ifcy may be possible in tho future . "
This was carried nom con . Bro . W . Harrop proposed , and Bro . Thos . Ruddock , seconded the following : — " That the beat thanks of Provincial Grand Lodge are due , and be given , to Bro . John C . Malcolm P . M . 306 P . Prov . Grand Registrar ,
for his valuable services as a member of the London Investigation Committee of the R . M . I , for Boys , so efficiently performed , at serious inconvenience and cost to himself , and that if Prov . G . Lodge consider it desirable he bo re-imbnrsed his exper <* cs out of pooket to the extent of fifty guineas . "
This was also carried , and Bro . Malcolm suitably replied in acknowledgment . Bro . W . F . Smithson presented a petition for relief on behalf of Bro . W . D . Hall P . M . 337 , and stated that tho Committee had recommended £ 20 ,
subject to tbo consent on the part of Provincial Grand Lodgo to the suspension of By-Law 42 . This being accorded , Bro . Smithson moved , Bro . Harrop seconded , and it was resolved , " That £ 20 be granted to Bro . W . D .
Hall , and that he receive the money in weekly sums . " Tho question of the retiring pension to bo awarded to Bro . Binckes was then discussed , Bros . Smithson , Harrop , Tusker , and others taking part in it . As an expression of
tho opinion of Prov . Grand Lodge , it was eventually proposed by Bro . Wm . Harrop , " That this Prov . G . Lodge recommend that the pension to Bro . Binckes do not exceed
¦ £ 250 a year . " This was seconded by Bro . Henry Oxley . An amendment , proposed by Bro . J . ii . Doro , and seconded by Bro . W . Fiaher Taskor , " Thafc fche amount do not

Letters of apology having been read , the Provincial Chancellor presented his annnal report , which was of a satisfactory character . All the Preceptories had sent in their dues and paid their returns . He called attention to article 82 of the Constitutions , by which the Registrar of every Preceptory was bound to send notice of each
meeting to tho P . G . Chancellor . The Provincial Grand Treasurer reported that the year , which commenced with a balance in band of £ 9 8 s lid , closed with a balance of iG 14 7 s 5 d . It was decided on the recommendation of tho General Purposes Committee to vote £ 10 10 s to the Widows' Fund of the Masonic Benevolent Institntion
for Aged Freemasons aud Widows , to be placed on tho list of Sir Knighfc the Rev . T . W . Lomon , the Steward for the Province . The Provincial Grand Chancellor said that since 1863 ho found tbat tho Provincial Priory had voted £ 93 to the Fortescne Annuity Fund , £ 36 183 to the Masonic Girls' School , £ 34 10 a to the Boys' Schol ,
£ 15 to tho Fund for Aged Freemasons , £ 21 2 s to the Devon Masonio Educational Fund , £ 6 6 s to the Royal Albert Hospital , aud £ 10 10 a to the Royal British Female Orphan Asylum . On tho proposition of Sir Knight Gover , Sir Knight D . Cross was unanimously elected Provincial Grand Treasurer . Ihe Provincial Grand Prior then

England that it is veiy desirable to amend the rule or regulation of tbo Order , by granting to all Sir Knights that havo received Provincial hononrs , and that shall receive in the future Provincial rank ,
tbo right of past rank ou the expiration of thoir term of oflico for so long aa thoy shall remain subscribing member * of the Order . " Tho resolution waa unanimously carried , and the meeting shortly after closed .
