Higgs , in recognition of his aervioea during the paat year . Loyal and Masomo toasts were given and received with acclamation , Bro . Frank Richardson responding for fche Grand Officers . Brother Higgs I . P . M . resumed the gavel for the purpose of proposing the health of the W . M ., whom , he was sure , had the respect nnd affection of every brother in the Lodge . The toasfc was drank with lond applause and acknowledged by tbe W . M ., who proceeded to give the
Masonio Institutions . He said fchey were all doing good work , bufc lately he had the privilege of visiting the Institution afc Croydon , where he found fche inmates well oared for , and if any brother had been with him to see how the old people enjoyed themselves and how comfortable they looked , he would be sure to double his intended subscription . He was pleased to announce that Bro . Frank
Richardson had placed 20 guineas on the Lodge list of subscriptions . The toasfc was acknowledged by Bro . Jamea Terry , Secretary to tbo R . M . B . Institution , in a humorous but earnest speech , in the course of which he remarked that ifc was impossible fco tell all tbo good these Institutions were doing ; but that with which he was associated was the worst off . They had just closed their list of candidates , which
showed the large number of 158 . Yet there were only 13 vacancies . Ifc was very terrible , but the only remedy was by increased subscrip . tions from the various Lodges . Their income averaged abont £ 13 , 000 per annum , bufc their expenses amounted to £ 14 , 800 . Every six months a certain per centage of the boys and girls left the Insti - tutions but tbe pensioners were ever with them , and it naturally followed that each
succeeding year found the old people less able to take care of themselves , and he might mention that they had one lady annuitant on their handa for 29 years . This appeal was so suecessful thafc later in the evening subscriptions wero announced to the total of £ 162 , and the W . M . hoped they would make up the amount to the nnmber of their Lodge , even if fchey did nofc reach £ 200 . Bro . George Jones , replying for the Installing Master , said that it
had been a threefold pleasure to work the ceremony that day , because throngh indisposition , he had been unable to instal his successor afc fche proper time , and now he had the gratification to instal Bro . Mansfield , Johu Knight , and Milna Jutsum responded for the Visitors ; and the remaining toasts were the Pasfc Maslcrs , acknowlodged by Bro . M ., had intimated his intention of being present at the consecration of the Easterford Lodge , at
Kelvedon , of which Bro . the Rev . Thomas Lloyd ( Chaplain Blaokwater Lodge ) is to be the first Master . The Lodge has been established through fcho instrumentality of the Blaokwater Lodge , who supported the petition for its formation to Grand Lodge , and is to be named Easterford , which was the ancient Saxon name of Kelvedon . The new Lodge will be numbered 2342 .

THE most successful meeting ever held in connection with this Lodge , took place at the Castle Hotel , East Molesey , on Tuesday , 7 th inst , when about sixty brethren were present fco witness the installation of Bro . Sadler was obliged to leave immediately after Lodge owing to professional dnties . During the evening it was mentioned that Lord Brooke , M . P ., the Prov . G . M ., had intimated his intention of being present at the consecration of the Easterford Lodge , at
Kelvedon , of which Bro . the Rev . Thomas Lloyd ( Chaplain Blaokwater Lodge ) is to be the first Master . The Lodge has been established through fcho instrumentality of the Blaokwater Lodge , who supported the petition for its formation to Grand Lodge , and is to be named Easterford , which was the ancient Saxon name of Kelvedon . The new Lodge will be numbered 2342 .

THE most successful meeting ever held in connection with this Lodge , took place at the Castle Hotel , East Molesey , on Tuesday , 7 th inst , when about sixty brethren were present fco witness the installation of Bro .
