PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE OP BEDFORDSHIRE .
THE Provincial Grand Lodge of Bedfordshire was held on the 2 nd instant , thafc being the day appointed for the installation of Lord Ampthill , the new Provincial
Grand Master of the Province . His Lordship had taken up his residence the day previously with Bro . Dr . Poole P . M . 2343 , in order to see thafc everything was properly arranged .
Provincial Grand Lodge was opeued punctually afc four o clock by Bro . the Right Hon . the Earl of Lathom Pro Grand Master , who was assisted by Bros . T . Fenn President Board of General Purposes as Deputy Provincial Grand Master , Robert Grey President Board of Benevolence as Past Provincial Grand Master , Captain N . G . Philips P . G . D ., and Frank Richardson P . G . D .
After the Provincial Grand Lodgo had been opened , and the Pro Grand Master saluted , fche Provincial Grand Master designate was announced , and his patent having been found in proper form , he was conducted into Provincial Grand Lodge , obligated , invested , installed , and saluted , and afterwards appointed his Officers for the year ,

Grand Director of Ceremonies , the same as he did on the installation of Bro . Colonel Stnart some few years ago , and being ably seconded by Bro . Thody P . M . 2343 , as his assistant , it is needless to say the day ' s proceedings passed oft' without a hitch , and to the satisfaction of every one
present , of whom there was a very large nnmber . After the ceremony the brethren adjourned to the Swan Hotel , where a banquet befitting the occasion had been provided . The usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were given , after which the health of the Provincial Grand Master was
proposed by the Pro Grand Master and responded to in a manner which * will long be remembered by those who heard it , and it is not going too far to say that if hia Lordship puts into practice the principles he then enunciated and carries out his work in the manner then
shadowed forth , the brethren of the Province will have no cause to regret the appointment the Most Worshipfnl Grand Master has thought fit to make .

THE annual meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Northants and Hunts took place at Stamford , on Thursday , the 9 th inst ., nnder the banner of the Merit Lodge , No . 466 . The arrangements made by the W . M ., Bro . J . C . B > oyce , the Secretary , and the brethren were all
that could be desired , and the proceedings of the day were of a satisfactory and enthusiastic character . The Board of Benevolence and Charity Organisation Committee met at the George Hotel , when the usual business was transacted ,
and several grants made . The Provincial Grand Lodge was afterwards opened , and was presided over by Bro . the Right Hon . the Earl of Euston , D . L ., Provincial Grand Master , who was assisted by Bro . Butler Wilkins Deputy Provincial Grand Master .
The Provincial Grand Lodge having been duly opened , the minutes of the last Provincial Grand meeting were read by the Provincial Grand Secretary , Bro . F . G . Buckle .
Bro . A Cockerill , upon the proposition of Bro . Butler Wilkins , seconded by Bro . T . W . Harrison , was again reelected Provincial Grand Treasurer , and was subsequently invested . The Provincial Grand Master thon nominated the followinp- brethren as tho Officers of tho Provincial Graud

Tho Provincial Grand Master congratulated tho Lodgo on having clone so well during- the past year . He was p leased to bo able to announce thafc they had succeeded on the firsfc occasion iu getting a Stamford brother elected as
' an annuitant of tho Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution . He thanked tho Officers who had backed him up so well during the year , and was pleased that -a- warrant had bueu issued for the formation of another Lodge afc Kingsley
