rp iIIS annual gathering took place on Thursday , the llfch inst ., at -L Northampton , mirier the Banner of the Eleanor Cross Lodge , No . 1701 , when his Grace the Duke of Manchester R . WP . G . M . presided , assisted by Bro . Butler Wilkins D . P . G . M . The business of the day began as early as eleven o ' clock , when the Board of Benevolence and Charity Organisation Committee met at the Masonic Hall .
A very satisfactory balance sheet was presented , and the proceedings were of a very hopefri i character . The Lodge was duly opened at ' 12-30 p . m . by the W . M . Bro . the Re / , tf . Wathen Wigg P . P . G . C ., in the Town Hall , which had been beau'ifnlly decorated for the occasion by Bros . T . P . Dornian and T . Emery . All the Officers were in
their places , and a largo number of brethren of the several Lodges ranged under their respective banners . Statuary and p lants were gracefully arranged runnd the room , and on the walls were suspended many h . r . rJsome banners , some of them being very artistically designed . The corridor was hung with
Chinese lanterns , which produced a pleasing e / tV > ef . The carpet , forming the Lodge floor , was laid in the centre of the room , aiouid which the brethren were seated .
