This places mo at a groat disadvantage , but supported as I am by such a numerous and distinguished body of influential Brethren , both in London and tho Provinces , including amongst others the Provincial Grand Masters and other heads of the Provinces of Cambridge , Cornwall , Cumberland and Westmoreland , Dorset , Durham , Hants and tha Islo of Wight , Jersey , Norfolk , Oxford , Suffolk , North and Ea « t Yorkshire , North Wales , and South Wales ( West ) , I cannot but feel that it is duo to my supporters , no loss than to myself , that I should proceed with my Candidature , and at onco announce my firm intention of going to tho Poll . While it is not for me to judgo of tho reasons which actuated the u'timate decision arrived at by a majority of the Provisional Management Committee , yet my committee feel most strongly that a candidate who has tho active support of so many Patrons , Vice-Patrons , Vice-Presidents , and Life-Governors of tho Institution , including no less than thirteen , Provincial Grand Masters , should at least have beon allowed to go to the poll aa eligible without boing handicapped for want of [ a certificate of eligibility accorded to four other candidates .
