D . 1817 , that a committee be appointed to collect , if practicable , by subscription , from the members of tins Lodge , the sum of thirty dollars , to be
transmitted in the name of the Lodge to our Reverend and worthy Brother Daniel Poor , missionary in the island of Ceylon , for the purpose of supporting and educating a youth of that country in the useful arts and sciences , and in the knowledge of the true God .
