October 3 . —SIR PATRICK WALKER . —AVe regret to state that this gentleman , her Majesty ' s Heritable Chief Usher of the AVhite Rod for Scotland , died on Tuesday evening , at his house , Drunisheugb , after a short but painful illness . Sir Patrick having for many years taken an active interest in all matters of local improvement , his demise will in many respects be a public loss . Iu private life he was warm-hearted and ever ready to oblige , and his friendships were sincere and lasting ,
