that nearly fifty brethren had voted , and the unanimous vote was in favour of Bro . George Abbott , the present S . W . It is seldom such an election takes place in any lodge containing so many brethren , and must be very gratifying to the VV . M . elect , and tends to show how well the members understand each other and work in harmony to thc
benefit and in the interests of the Craft in general and their own lodge in particular . The VV . M . elect thanked the lodge for their confidence and their numerous votes , and assured the members that nothing should be wanting on his part to cement and foster that friendly feeling shown toward him on this occasion .

G . M ., Deputy G . M . and the Officers of Grand Lodge Present and Past . " "The Prov . G . M . Lord Waveney , and Rev . C . J . Martyn , D . P . G . M . " These toasts received the usual hearty response from the brethren which
they so well deserve . The VV . M . then proposed "The Ofiicers of Provincial Grand Lodge , Present and Past , " coupled with the names of Bros . VV . G . Cunnold , for the Past , and W . Daking , for the Present Prov . Grand Officers . These brethren having responded , the VV . M . proposed "The Health of the VV . M . Elect , Bro . George Abbott , Past Prov . G . Sword Bearer , " and with pleasure remarked
how faithfully Bro . Abbott had attended to his duties in the offices in the lodge to which he had been appointed at various times , also to the great interest he had taken in the lodge of instruction , of which he was Secretary and Preceptor ; and feeling sure that , in placing Bro . Abbott in the W . M . ' s chair of the lodge , the brethren had the rit ht man in the right place .
The VV . M . elect responded , and said he considered it thc greatest honour he ever had conferred on him to be elected to preside over such a large and important lodge , and thanked the members for their hearty congratulations when his health was proposed , also for their unanimous vote in lodge , assuring them nothing should be wanting on his part to carry out the duties of that high and important Dosition to the nest of his ahilitv . and for the honour of tbn
Craft . "The Health of the Newly-Initiated , " " The Visitors , " "The I . P . M ., " and "The Officers" was given and briefly responded to . they so well deserve . The VV . M . then proposed "The Ofiicers of Provincial Grand Lodge , Present and Past , " coupled with the names of Bros . VV . G . Cunnold , for the Past , and W .
