The preliminary toasts having been duly disposed of , Comp . Loewenstark , proposed in very flattering terras " The Health of the M . E . Z . " He felt sorry that they had had no candidate that evening because the officers who hail so ably rehearsed the ceremony of
exaltation , and who hail evidently taken a great deal of trouble to perfect themselves in the work , ought to have had tiieir industry rewarded by exalting some worthy brother . The Jerusalem had always borne a good name as a first-class " . working " chapter , and hc as one of its oldest members sincerely trusted that it would still continue to keep up that proud position . In conclusion he hoped that their First
Principal would long continue to be a member of the chapter as one ol the most able exponents of Royal Arch Masonry . This toast having been duly honoured the First Piincipal briefly replied and im medially proposed " ihe Health cf the Second and Third Principals . " He said that the Jerusalem Chapter was exceedingly fortunate in possessing two such zealous and clever Royal Arch
Masons as Comps . Robinson anil Mandcr , the latter companion in particular was throughly conversant with the " work " and was well and deservedly known as an excellent preceptor in all the degrees of Freemasonry . This pledge having been most cordially received , Comps . Robinson and Maniler returned thanks . " Thc Past Principals " followed , and was acknowledged by Comp . Loewenstaik .

The minutes of thc previous convecation having been read and confirmed , thc ceremony of exaltation was most ably rehearsed by the Three Principals , assistcel by thc rest of the
officers . There being no other business before the convocation it was formally closed , and the companions adjourned to an elegant banquet . The preliminary toasts having been duly disposed of , Comp . Loewenstark , proposed in very flattering terras " The Health of the M . E . Z . " He felt sorry that they had had no candidate that evening because the officers who hail so ably rehearsed the ceremony of
exaltation , and who hail evidently taken a great deal of trouble to perfect themselves in the work , ought to have had tiieir industry rewarded by exalting some worthy brother . The Jerusalem had always borne a good name as a first-class " . working " chapter , and hc as one of its oldest members sincerely trusted that it would still continue to keep up that proud position . In conclusion he hoped that their First
Principal would long continue to be a member of the chapter as one ol the most able exponents of Royal Arch Masonry . This toast having been duly honoured the First Piincipal briefly replied and im medially proposed " ihe Health cf the Second and Third Principals . " He said that the Jerusalem Chapter was exceedingly fortunate in possessing two such zealous and clever Royal Arch
Masons as Comps . Robinson anil Mandcr , the latter companion in particular was throughly conversant with the " work " and was well and deservedly known as an excellent preceptor in all the degrees of Freemasonry . This pledge having been most cordially received , Comps . Robinson and Maniler returned thanks . " Thc Past Principals " followed , and was acknowledged by Comp . Loewenstaik .
In giving " The Treasurer and Scribe E , " the M . E . Z . paid a very high compliment to Comps . Harfcld anil Davage for the great care and interest they displayed in the discharge of their respective duties . After the opening anil the passing thc minutes the chair was taken by Comp . Thos . Clark , P . Z ., who
proceeded ( in his usual very effective manner ) to instil Com p . Thos . Roberts into the chair of M . E . Z . ; Comp . Henry Burrows , as II . ; anil Comp . David Jackson , as J . After this portion of the ceremony the following companions were appointed to office , viz ., Comps . Wm . Brackenbury , S . E . ; Lewis Herman , S . N . ; and G . Musker , P . S . ; M . E . Z .
