MADAME WORRELL ' S ANNUAL CONCERT . —On Thursday evening , the 21 st inst ., this talented and popular artiste gave her annual concert at the Angell Town Institute , Gresham-road , Brixton , when she was favoured with an overwhelming attendance of friends and admirers , and rarely has such a splendid musical treat been afforded the music-loving inhabitants of Brixton . The programme was
of the highest character , and contained , besides some ballads of established repute , several new compositions . Aladame Worrell ' s reputation is so firmly established that it is almost impossible to say anything new in her praise ; but on this occasion she fairly excelled herself in the rendering of Pinsuti ' s "It may he so . " This
appropriate song fairly brought down the house , and , in response to an unanimous demand for a repeat , she gave , with accustomed archness , "Thady O'Flynn . " Other solos were most artistically given . We congratulate Aladame Worrell on the success of the affair , and hope that this lady will again shortly afford thc public an opportunity of hearing such a galaxy of talent .
IESTIMONIAL TO THE LORD MAYOR . — In order to mark their high appreciation of the admirable manner in which the Lord Alayor ( Bro . Sir F . W . Truscott ) has discharged his duties during his year of office , now approaching its termination , many of his lordship ' s public and private friends , together with colleagues and constituents , have cxpresseti a desire to give practical
expression to their ieehngs in some substantial and enduring form , and thus testify their approbation of the way in which the dignity and popularity of the mayoralty have been maintained hy him , its usefulness ( charitable , commercial , and municipal ) extended , and the hospitalities of the Alansion I louse dispensed with surpassing munificence , taste and liberality . Tor this purpose a committee has been formed , of which Mr . J . K . Luck is chairman , Mr .

We ( City Press ) understand that Lieut-Colonel Britten has undertaken thc duties of treasurer , and that the past and present sheriffs and under-sheriffs arc among the active promoters of the movement .
