H . lies is one of the
past incumbents of the office of Grand Superintendent Such an appointment is not objectionable in Oxfordshire or Cambridgeshire , if the reverend Brother belongs to that body of clergymen who have taken a deep interest in architecture , and have largely contributed to its
literature . Professor Browne Willis * for instance , has done very much for the promotion of architecture . The Rev * Mr . Pettit has published a valuable illustrated work , and there are many others we might name . What is wanted is an enlightened and zealous man . The MaBonic Temple of West Lancashire , in the town of Liverpool ,
is justly deserving of attention . We have made further inquiries , and are glad to find that it is well constituted . The Temple belongs to the Lodges of the province , and the idea of obtaining for them such an establishment originated with Bro . Joshua Walmsley , Prov . Grand Treasurer , who has naturally been called upon as the founder to carry out his own idea , by aiding materially in raising the required funds *
