There was a large audience , and the result will doubtless be a substantial addition to the fund for the erection of the new hall , the foundation-stone of which will

probably be laid on an early day . For the special occasion , several Masonic items were introduced into the attractive programme . The Red Cross song " Rall y round the Standard , '' deserves special remark , as it was sung with remarkable vigour and effect b y Air . C . Herberte , who secured an enthusiastic encore . " AVhat better

theme than Masonry ? '' was also sung b y Air . G . Campbell ; and an overture , introducing Masonic airs , arranged b y Air . Carpenter , forming a p leasing introduction to the evening ' s entertainments . The whole programme was of the usual excellence , and elicited frequent marks of approval .
