Sprake , to whom the thanks of the Lodge was voted , on his resigning the office , the duties of which he had efficiently discharged for several years . R . Wood , Grand Steward , requested to be allowed to state that he had been appointed by the Castle Lodge of Harmony ,
No . 27 , to represent that Lodge as steward at the festival of the Royal Benevolent Institution for-Aged Freemasons and their Widows , on Wednesday , January 26 th , 1859 , and solicited the co-operation of the York Lodge Brethren . A subscription was imqiediateiy intered into , and the sum of twenty-five guineas collected , Bro . the Earl of Yarborough , with his usual generosity , heading the list with ten guineas . The Lodge was then closed , after excellent working , and the moat friendly feeling .
