The dinner was served by host and hostess Careless in a way which gave great and pronounced satisfaction . R . D . Burnie , J . G . Hall , L . Lewis , Parker , D . C . Jones , and others . A not uninteresting feature of the evening ' s proceedings was the presentation to Bro . R . Capper of a P . M . 's jewel , of a unique description , subscribed for by the members , designed by Bro . J . B . Wilson , Sec . This was the first jewel presented to a retiring W . M ., and was in recognition
of special services during a two years' occupancy of the chair . It is one of uncommon design . The Welsh dragon rampant surmounts thc Masonic square , on which are engraved the national emblems of the Welsh leek on one side , and red and white roses on the other . The jewel is handsome in design , and is very chaste in workmanship , and was manufactured by Bro . George Kenning , London .
The presentation was made by Bro . J . G . Hall , P . M ., who , in a few well-chosen words , remarked upon the two years' excellent services of Bro . Capper as VV . M . of the lodge . This was the first presentation of its kind in the Talbot Lodge , and Bro . Hall took occasion to compliment Bro . Capper on having been true and trusty , and
upon the pains he had taken in the work of building up the lodge in the face of considerable difficulties . The proceedings of thebanquet were enlivened by a programme of " melody and mirth , " in which a part was taken by Bro . the Rev . T . R . Walters , J . Maddan , R . Browning , G . Allen , A . George , and others .
TWICKENHAM . —Sir Francis Burdett Lodge ( No . 1503 ) . — 'This prosperous provincial lodge met at the Albany Hotel on the ioth inst ., when there were present among others Bros . J . T . The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed , after which the ballot was taken on behalf of Mr . T . VV . Mason , and it proved to be unanimous ; but , from unavoidable circumstances , he was prevented from attending . The bye-laws , as finally approved by the M . W . G . M . and Prov . G . M ., having been read , communications from

After the regular business the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to refreshment , and in the course ol the evening the VV . M . unveiled the portrait of Bro . Wm .
Foulsham , P . M ., which had been subscribed for by members of thelodge , and which will be placed in the Masonic Hall , and in very appropriate terms referred to the debt of gratitude the lodge owed to Bro . Foulsham ever since its consecration . Before calling on the Secretary to read the following address , the W . M . stated that last year a
Committee was formed , and the work entrusted to Miss Sawyer , daughter of Bro . C . Sawyer , P . M . of the Wallington Lodge . The unveiling of the portrait , which was considered an excellent likeness by all present , was hailed with loud applause . The Secretary then read the address : " To the VV . Bro . The visitors expressed the gratification it had afforded them to be present on the interesting occasion , and the meeting concluded iu the usual manner . The enjoyment of the evening was greatly enhanced by some excellent singing by Bro . M . H . Dicker , the VV . M ., and Bros . Shakespeare , Kilvington , Ridpath , and Grillin .

Suffolk , has kindly presented a copy to each subscriber to the memorial fund . General Ives has received the thanks of her Majesty the Oueen and their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and
the Duchess of Albany for photographs forwarded to them , the Duchess expressing herself as "deeply touched by the mark of respect paid by the brethren to her beloved husband . " The brethren afterwards adjourned to banquet at the Half Moon Hotel , where a very pleasant evening was spent , under the presidency of the W . M ., who was well supported , the usual loyal and Masonic toasts being heartily received .

's jewel , of a unique description , subscribed for by the members , designed by Bro . J . B . Wilson , Sec . This was the first jewel presented to a retiring W . M ., and was in recognition
of special services during a two years' occupancy of the chair . It is one of uncommon design . The Welsh dragon rampant surmounts thc Masonic square , on which are engraved the national emblems of the Welsh leek on one side , and red and white roses on the other . The jewel is handsome in design , and is very chaste in workmanship , and was manufactured by Bro . George Kenning , London .
The presentation was made by Bro . J . G . Hall , P . M ., who , in a few well-chosen words , remarked upon the two years' excellent services of Bro . Capper as VV . M . of the lodge . This was the first presentation of its kind in the Talbot Lodge , and Bro . Hall took occasion to compliment Bro . Capper on having been true and trusty , and
upon the pains he had taken in the work of building up the lodge in the face of considerable difficulties . The proceedings of thebanquet were enlivened by a programme of " melody and mirth , " in which a part was taken by Bro . the Rev . T . R . Walters , J . Maddan , R . Browning , G . Allen , A . The lodge was opened in the Second Degree . The ceremony of passing was rehearsed , Bro , Stevenson being the candidate , 'i'lie lodge was resumed to the First Degree . Bro . Gibson vacated and tlie W . M . again took the chair . The Preceptor , assisted bv the brethren , worked tlie ist Section of this lecture .
The W . M . rose for the first time , and Bro . Roberts , Wanderers Lodge , and Robertson , Dnke of Albany Lodge , were unanimously elected joining members , A vote of thanks was also unanimously voted , to be recorded on the minutes , to the W . M . for the very able and efficient manner in which lie had worked the ceremony of initiation for tlie lirst time , and he deserved it , having worked the ceremony in a most efficient manner . Nothing further offering , the lodge was closed .
