The iodge was opened in the first and second degrees . Pros . Turton and Cooke underwent the usual examination previous to being raised to the degree of Master Masons .
The lodge was opened in the third degree , when Bros . Turton and Cooke were again admitted , and the rank of Master conferred upon them by W . Bro . Warner . The Lodge having been lowered to the first degree , Mr . ' Joseph Pigott was introduced , and initiated into the mysteries of Masonry , W . Bro . Warner conducting this ceremony also . It was resolved that the Lodge be adjourned until September . A request was made by the Lodge of Honour for permission
to use the Lodge- room and furniture for a few months , in consequence of the time they could occupy the old assembly rooms expiring at Midsummer ; the request was granted , and ordered to be entered on the minutes . Eighteen Brethren were present on this occasion , including three visitors—viz ., Bros . T . James , P . M ., 786 ; Humphrey , 786 ; Lewis , P . M . y 769 . The Lodge was also honoured by the presence of the Right Worshipful the Provincial Grand Master , Col . Yernon .

Deeley , W . M . Mr . Edward Henry Davis , of Newtown , Montgomeryshire , was initiated into the 1 st Degree , by the W . M ., the ceremony
being admirably performed . The charge was impressively delivered by Bro . the Eev . E . A . Gwynne , B . A . ( P . M ., Prov . G . Chap ., Staffordshire ) , the Chaplain to the Lodge . The Lodge was honoured by the attendance of the R . W . the Prov . G . M ., Bro . Yernon , who spoke well of the working of the Lodge , and hoped the W . M . would always be well supported by his Officers . In reference to Bro . Sheridan and the Ionic Lodge ( referred to in the Magazine a week or two since ) the W . M . said he had received a communication from the Vernon Lodge , through the Secretary , containing an appeal to Grand Lodge . While eulogising the forbearance and
Masonic feeling displayed by this Lodge in the matter , he would yet withhold that document for a time , inasmuch as he had spoken to eminent Brethren in town who , he thought , would be able to arrange all difficulties , and prevent the unpleasantness of an appeal to the Board of General Purposes . He hoped that if the Ionic had been doing wrong for thirty years past , that this Lodge would be the means of making them do right in future . On the motion of Bro . Wigginton ( in the absence of Bro . Hoilier ) , tho by-law relating to the fines at tho committee meetings was abolished . Two candidates for initiation were unanimously elected .
