The Lodge was numerously attended , and among the Brethren present , we noticed a goodly number of red coats . There were no less than twenty-three P . Ms , present , among whom was the M . W . Bro . Preston , G . M . of Hayti , the R . W . Colin Campbell , a Scottish Prov . G . M ., and several foreign Brethren from Curacoa , America , and elsewhere .
The Lodge having been opened in due and ancient form , the Prov . Grand Lodge was admitted with due honour , when the retiring Master , W . Bro . James W . Whitburne , proceeded to install Bro . Joseph Francis , as W . M . of the Sussex Lodge , in accordance with the ritual now strictly enjoined by the Colonial Board of the United Grand Lodge of England , in the terms of a circular recently sent to this Province by the Y . W . Bro . W . G . Clarke , the newly installed G . Sec . The ceremony , impressive in itself , was , if possible , rendered still more so by the manner in which it was performed by the W . Bro .
