MASONIC FESTIVITIES .
The annual ball of Bro . Thos . Alex . Adams , P . M ., the well-known band master , came off at Willis ' s Rooms on the evening of Tuesday , the 9 th , and if the attendance of the Brethren could make it a Masonic ball , it was most truly so—there being nearly two hundred of them present , accompanied by the ladies of their families . Nor were Bro . Adams ' s other friends at all " backward in coming
forward , " and the result was a very pleasant ball , and , we hope , substantial reward to our worthy Brother , whose face , as usual , was beaming with delight throughout the evening . The band was excellent , and with the assistance of Bro . Frampton , as M . C ., it was impossible that the ball should do otherwise than go off with the utmost eclat .
Bro . Jacob Beuler gave his annual soiree at the Freemasons' Tavern on Monday , the 15 th , and never did his friends rally round him in greater force . Song and dance alternated the amusement- —Bro . Beuler ' s exquisite comicalities telling with good effect .
PROVINCIAL . Liverpool Masonic Ball . — -Bro . Horatio Gambell , Treasurer to the ball which was held on the 9 th of February last at the Town-hall , has handed over to the Treasurer of the Liverpool District Provident Society £ 50 ; and to the Treasurer of the Strangers' Friend Society £ 50 , heing the sum realized after paying all expenses .

THE Court still continues at Osborne ; and there has been but little change in the political world since we last addressed our readers . The new Ministers have met their constituents , and been returned again to their places in the House . On Friday the House of Commons met , and Mr . Disraeli ( the Chancellor of the Exchequer ) announced that her Majesty ' s Government had received a despatch fro m the French ambassador in answer to the one which had been addressed to
the French Government by her Majesty ' s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs . The right hon . gentleman added that he had great pleasure in informing the House that the painful misconception which had for some time subsisted between the Governments of the two countries had entirely terminated in a friendly and honourable manner , and in a way which he believed would be as satisfactory to the feelings as he was sure it would be conducive to the interests and happiness of both countries . Some votes having been taken for Army and Navy Estimates ,
Lord Palmerston announced that it was not his intention to drop bis Indian Bill until after he had seen that of the present Administration . From India and China we have nothing new , excepting that Lucknow is about to be invested , and the King of Delhi has been transported . In France there has been an insurrection attempted by some forty people : the attempt was in itself trivial ,
but connected with other ramifications of discontent , has exploded , but it ended in the complete suppression of the disturbance , and the capture of above a third of the insurgents . The appeal of Orsini and Pierri having heen rejected by the Court of Cassation , the unfortunate men were guillotined on Saturday last . The wife of De Jiudio having given evidence against Bernard which may lead to his conviction in this country ; as an accessory to murder , he has boon reprieved and
