He obtained the works of distinguished Masons ,, which only rendered the desire more strong to become one of the free and accepted . On being admitted to the noble Order , he found it much in advance of what he expected . At all events , he found that , to be a good Mason , it was most essential to be a good man . With respect to the beautiful portion of Freemasonry they had been admitted to that evening , it would be premature on his part to say anything at present
respecting it , having scarcely had an opportunity of observing fully its beauties-r-for beauties it certainly possessed in an eminent degree . He hoped at a future-period to make himself sufficiently acquainted with Arch Masonry , to render him worthy of the honour they had vouchsafed him . Domatic /' Chapter ( No . 206 ) . — -This Chapter met on Thursday , March 25 , at the Masonic Hall , Fetter Lane , and , after having exalted Bros . Brett , W . M . of the Domatic Lodge , and J . "Woodward , of the Temperance Lodge , the M . E . Z ., Comp . Adams , who performed the ceremony of exaltation in an almost perfect manner , being very ably assisted by Comp . Thompson , H ., and Comp . Watson , as J ., proceeded to the interesting and impressive ceremonials of installing the three Principals , who had been unanimously elected at the preceding convocation : i . e ., Comp ,
Thompson , M . E . Z . ; Comp . William Carpenter , H . ; and Comp . Odell , J . Comp . Tyrrell was made P . S . ; Best and Nott , Assist . S . ; Child , E ., and Suter , N . The convocation having been duly closed , the Comps . retired to the banquet , the M . E . Z ., Comp . Thompson presiding . The usual toasts were proposed , and heartily responded to . The health of Comp . Ireland was proposed in very complimentary terms by Comp . Smith , Treas . and Gr , P . ; and Comp . Ireland , in replying , expressed the interest he felt in Masonry , and his desire to do all he could to promote the comfort and well-being of all connected with it .

Flowery Field , Ciieshiee . —Chapiter of Fidelity ( No . 623 ) . —A warrant having been granted by the Supreme Grand Chapter for holding a Chapter in connection with Lodge No . 623 , on the first Saturday in the months of January , April , July , and October , the first meeting was held on the 14 th of March , at the White Hart Inn , —Comps . John Lord , W . Roberts , and J . L . Holland , P . Zs . of No . 62 , Hochdale , having kindly attended to consecrate and install the Principals nominated in the warrant . About fifteen other visitors were present from the surrounding districts , who had attended to witness the interesting cerenronv ; amongst whom
were Comps . Swindells , Z . No . 847 ; Andrews , P . Z . No . 106 ; £ Baker , No . 177 ; and Wilson , II . No . 465 . The Chapter having been duly formed and opened , the petition and warrant read , and the other preliminary business transacted , Comp . Lord , the presiding Z ., proceeded to consecrate the Chapter in ancient and solemn form , assisted by Comps . J . L . Holland as H ., and W . Roberts as * J . After which , in the absence of the 3 rd Principal nominated in the warrant , Comps . E . Bell was installed as H ., and John Yarker as Z ., of this new Chapter . Comps . Swindells , Z . No . 847 , and Hill , J . No . 847 , were also duly installed to fill their
respective chairs in that Chapter , the ceremonies being ably and efficiently performed by Comps . Lords and Roberts—after which the other officers were appointed . Four candidates for exaltation were then balloted for and elected , when Comp . Yarker , Z ., proceeded to exalt Bro . Israel Stott to the Supreme Degree of a Royal Arch Mason—Comp . Bryar , of Chapter No . 358 , very efficiently discharging the onerous duties of P . S . A vote of thanks to Comps . Lord , Holland , Roberts , and Bryar , for their kindness in attending and for the valuable assistance rendered , was ordered to be recorded on the minutes . Two companions were proposed as joining members , and one for exaltation ; and the Chapter then d \\\ j closed . The next meeting is to be held on the 3 rd of April .
