their prospects in building their new Hall , from which it appeared that they have already subscribed amongst themselves towards this laudable object the sum of £ 300 , which includes the handsome donation of £ 200 from the R . W . Prov . G . M ., the Marquis of Downshire , besides a gift of 50 , 000 bricks from Bro . J . Gibson .
The land is purchased , in Grey Friars-road , near the railway station ; but , to carry out their views , additional funds are still required . Their present meetings are held in a dilapidated house in St . Laurence ' s churchyard , much resembling , from its isolated position , those high , low , and very secret places where our ancient Brethren used to assemble , before they had such convenient places to meet in as they now enjoy . We most cordially wish them success .

Bulley , P . M ., and Prov . J . G . D . for Cheshire , assisted by Bro . Piatt , immediate P . M ., and Bros . Willoughby , P . Prov . J . G-. D . ; Sherlock , P . Prov . Supt . of Works ; Rampling , P . Prov . G . Sup . of Works ; Wade , P . M . No . 701 ; Griffiths , P . M . No . 701 ; Brattan , W . M . No . 701 ; and Neville ,
W . M . No . 880 . After the ceremony , the Brethren sat down to a sumptuous repast , prepared in Bro . Hilliar ' s best style . After the banquet , the W . M . gave the usual loyal toasts , not forgetting our honoured Brother the Prince of Prussia , and his fair * bride the Princess Royal . Bro . Willoughby , in a short but eloquent and pathetic address , gave "To the memory of J . Finchett Maddock , Esq ., deceased , the late B . W . J ) . Prov . G . M . of the Province . " During the course
of his remarks , he recounted our late D . Prov . G . M . s numerous good qualities , and the kindness which he had ever rendered to his Brethren , and which had endeared him to every Mason who had the pleasure of his acquaintance . The toast was drunk in solemn silence , and with the usual Masonic honours to departed merit . The W . M . then , in succession , proposed "The Earl of Zetland , the M . W . G . M . ; " " Lord Panmure , D . G . M . ; " and "LordCombermere , Prov . G . M .
