In reply to an application irorii the Treasurer of the new Masonic Hall Fund for individual subscriptions , it was suggested that the Committee furnish the various Lodges with printed sheets , to he laid on the table for that purpose . Bro . Muirhead was proposed as a rejoining member . The Lodge was then called from labour to
rereshment ; and on the removal of the cloth the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were given , the latter responded to by Bros . Wylie , Atherton , and others . Various musical compositions of great merit were performed at intervals during the evenings by Bros . Sedgewick , Moore , Graham , Jones , Tyzack , Armstrong , Tomasson , and Wilberforce . The Brethren having resumed labour , some littlo business was transacted , after which the Lodge was closed , and the Brethren separated .

SOUTH WALES . Carmarthen . —St . Peter ' s Lodge ( No . 699 ) . —The usual monthly meeting of this Lodge was held on the 19 th of February last , when Bro . W . G . S . Thomas ., P . M ., occupied the chair with his usual ability . Bro . Lloyd Jones was passed to the 2 nd Degree by Bro . Bro . W . H . Cole ( W . M . 996 ) , and a gentleman proposed for initiation at the next Lodge ; but the great event of the evening was a lecture on the tracing-board in the 1 st Degree by Brother Cole , which was delivered by
that Brother in so able iind interesting a manner as to call forth the unanimous applause of the Brethren , This being the first time for many years that a mem * ber of this Lodge has delivered a Masonic lecture , it excited more than usual interest , and when the E . W . Prov . G . M . ( Bro . Jolmes ) entered the Lodge late in the evening , he expressed his great regret that his duties as Judge of the County Court had prevented his being present in time to hear the lecture . Bro . Cole introduced tl > e subject by pointing out the peculiar excellence of Freemasonry , and illustrated his lecture throughout with apt quotations from old Masonic writers , which
showed the research and care which he had devoted to the subject of his lecture . The lecture was listened to with very great attention , and a vote of thanks to Bro Cole ( proposed by Ero . W . de G . Warren , and seconded by Bro . W . G . S . Thomas , P . M . ) unanimously carried for his kindness in endeavouring to instruct his Brethren in the way he had done . A vote of thanks to Bros . W . H . Cole , Ben Jones , P . M ., and Bro . W . G . H . Thomas , P . M ., ( proposed by Bro . Tardrew , P . M . and Prov . G . Treas ., and seconded by Bro . Owen Bowcn ) was also carried , for the very handsome manner in which the new hall had been arranged and decorated under their superintendence . The Lo < U » e then adjourned .,
On the 19 th inst ., the members of this Lodge met again , when the work was unusually heavy , consisting of three initiations and one raising , besides the presentation of the testimonial to Bro . Cole . Bro . W . G . S . Thomas , P . M ., performed the ceremony of initiation very ably and impressively , and the three newlyinitiated Brethren ( Bros . M'Farlane , Harris , and Watkins ) afterwards expressed the satisfaction which they felt in haying been ho solemnly admitted to the privi-
